Band Tower

History

Band Tower is located between the palace and nine-domed structure in Donnaik’s enclosure; this is one of the better preserved Islamic-styled buildings in the Royal Center. At the ground level the building consists of eight identical piers framing arched entrances leading into an octag¬onal chamber. Abutting the square stone basement at an angle on the northeast, but actually separated from the pavilion, is the staircase tower, clearly a later addition. The steps of this tower lead directly to the octagonal chamber at the upper level. Here, arched windows are provided on seven sides, while on the eighth side an arched opening provides ac¬cess to the upper staircase landing.
