Large Stone Door is in Royal enclosure area, located on the northwest corner. From the size of it, one can easily guess that these adorned the entrance of an important royal building.
The curators positioned the fallen doors at an angle so that it is possible to see the details on its front and back surfaces. It seems the artisans succeeded in creating the replica of wooden ornamented doors in stone. The doors are complete with door bolts and the pivot shafts at the end. Note the beveled mullions with the array of protruding lotus buds at its junctions, a typical feature of massive wooden doors. In all probability it required an elephant to push open these door panels during its functional days.
